Mistake costs drugstore 17,000 free diapers

From out of nowhere, she ended up on the cover of a Kruidvat brochure. Former Dutch Member-of-Parliament Sabine Uitslag, was not aware the company had planned on using her image for their cover. 

Kruidvat, a Dutch drugstore, admitted making a mistake – they had used Ms. Uitslag’s image unknowingly and apologized immediately. Apparently her image had been mistakenly used by Kruidvat’s advertising agency. Instead of taking legal action against Kruidvat, Uitslag had a different idea: she demanded that Kruidvat supply Het Babyhuis (a care centre for babies) with free diapers for an entire year. Ms. Uitslag is currently an ambassador for Het Babyhuis.

By demanding diapers instead of a lawsuit, Ms. Uitslag figured a way to turn an awkward situation into a new possibility. By creating attention and good PR for both Kruidvat and Het Babyhuis, Ms. Uitslag came up with an excellent example of Omdenken!
